In order to prove robbery, the State must prove: (1) that the defendant took property from the victim's control, (2) that the defendant took the property by force or threat of force and (3) that the defendant intended to steal the property ... that is, to deprive the victim of the property permanently.
The maximum penalty for robbery is imprisonment for not more than 15 years.
