Hundreds of thousands of car accident injuries occur in the United States every year, ranging from minor bumps and bruises to catastrophic injuries that result in permanent disabilities or even death. While car accidents can cause a wide range of injuries, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) ranks the following injuries in the “top five,” based on data collected and analyzed by the federal government every year.
