
In a recent opinion approved for publication, a three-judge panel of the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey held that insurance policies issued to Uber and Lyft under the Transportation Network Company Safety and Regulatory Act (“TNC Act”) are required to provide personal injury protection (“PIP”) coverage benefits to uninsured pedestrians injured by the Uber or Lyft vehicle. See Boone v. Unsatisfied Claim & Judgment Fund/New Jersey Prop. Liab. Ins. Guar. Ass'n, No. A-2772-24, 2026 WL 2129885, at *1 (App. Div. July 24, 2026).
